Conflicts of Interest

I am thrilled to announce that my artwork, Infestation, has been selected for the upcoming Conflict of Interests exhibition at the ShadowBoxX Gallery in Waukegan, Illinois.

The exhibition, which runs from May 16 through June 13, 2026, focuses on the theme of friction and the profound disconnect between what an object looks like and the message it actually communicates. It invites viewers to explore the clash of opposing ideas, where tension and defiance take center stage over expected harmony.

This concept deeply resonates with my ongoing exploration of the natural world and the core themes behind my Experience through Insects series. Operating as an artist-biologist, my work frequently examines the unpredictable, sometimes intrusive forces of nature. Infestation embodies this exact tension, challenging the viewer to examine the collision between a structured, predictable environment and raw, untamed biological elements.

The opening reception will be held on Saturday, May 16, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the gallery (116 Washington St., Waukegan, IL). I would love for you to come and experience the show in person.
