Rhythm of Diet Coke
Definition: a principle of design that suggests movement or action. Rhythm is usually achieved through repetition of lines, shapes, colors, and more. It creates a visual tempo in artworks and provides a path for the viewer's eye to follow. My Rhythm Sculpture: When creating my sculpture I decided to develop rhythmic waves in multiple dimensions. On the birds-eye-view plane, I mimicked waves by cutting varying widths of strips from the cans. From a side angle, I attempted to simulate sound waves by bending waves. My goal and the purpose of this sculpture was to create a multidimensional embodiment of rhythm. One thing that I think went well was that I was able to create waves with the metal strips which was actually kind of difficult to figure out in the beginning. One thing that could have gone better would be making sure the sculpture is more sturdy and not as delicately using super glue to attach the pieces to the base.
