Seasons: Winter 2026 Exhibition
I’m happy to share that my piece, Phoenix, has been included in the Seasons: Winter 2026 international juried exhibition.
When we think of winter, we usually think of stillness, pale colors, and a certain kind of hushed cold. But for many, winter isn't just a season of rest—it’s something to be endured. There is a specific kind of internal heat required to push through the grayest months of the year.
With Phoenix, I wanted to lean into that friction. Instead of painting the season as it looks on the outside, I wanted to capture the 'fiery' expression of someone refusing to be cooled by their environment. It’s a study of that stubborn, inner warmth that keeps us moving when the world outside feels stagnant.
Having this piece selected for the Winter 2026 showcase is a great way to kick off the year. It’s a reminder that even in the middle of a cold season, there is plenty of room for a little bit of heat.
