Stillness 2026

I’m happy to share that my piece, Reflection, has been included in the Stillness 2026 international juried exhibition.

The theme of this show is all about finding a pause in a world that rarely stops moving, which felt like the right home for this specific work. With Reflection, I wanted to move past the surface of a mirror and instead look at the internal state of the person staring back. It’s an exploration of that split second where you aren't just looking at your features, but really seeing yourself—a moment of honesty that only happens in total quiet.

Technically, this piece was a challenge in rendering the subtle distortions of light and the 'double' nature of an image. I’m grateful to the jurors at Biafarin for selecting it to sit alongside other works that value this kind of silence. It’s a nice reminder that sometimes the most compelling stories are the ones told in the absence of action.
